‘Lakhs registered, jobs very few’: Aditya Surjewala questions effectiveness of Rozgar portal
Chandigarh: The tall claims of the Nayab Saini-led BJP govt about generating employment opportunities through Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited (HKRNL) was questioned by Congress MLA from Kaithal, Aditya Surjewala, who sought details from the minister of state for youth empowerment, Gaurav Gautam.According to information flashed by the Haryana govt, a total 1,13,914 out of the total 14.63 lakh applicants got employment through HKRNL so far. Since the number 1,13,914 included 97,051 old employees who were on contractual employment before the inception of HKRNL, effectively 16,893 new applicants got jobs from this portal. This worked out to only 1.15%, if one calculated the job opportunity for new applicants after inception of the portal, and only 7.8% overall, including old staffers who were ported from the old to the new system.
All this came to light in response to an unstarred question asked by MLA Aditya Surjewala. Aditya informed TOI that the details provided by the state highlighted the massive gap between registrations on the portal and actual employment provided. "According to the official reply given by the minister of state for youth empowerment, this means the fresh placement rate is approximately just 1.15% of total registered candidates, while the overall placement rate (including porting) is around 7.8%. These figures raise serious doubts about the effectiveness of the HKRN portal," said Aditya Surjwala."Lakhs of youths are registered on the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam portal, but actual jobs are extremely few. This goes against the govt's claims on skill development and job creation," added Surjewala.*District-wise Registrations of Youths under HKRN in Haryana (up to 2026)*- Hisar: 1,46,545 - Sonipat: 83,063 - Rohtak: 71,924 - Panipat: 57,362 - Sirsa: 79,453 - Kaithal: 82,043 - Ambala: 55,727 - Bhiwani: 1,00,244 - Charkhi Dadri: 48,060 - Faridabad: 23,723 - Fatehabad: 65,483 - Gurugram: 27,477 - Jhajjar: 54,656 - Jind: 1,20,718 - Karnal: 75,758 - Kurukshetra: 51,799 - Mahendragarh: 75,183 - Nuh: 32,562 - Palwal: 57,192 - Panchkula: 30,312 - Rewari: 55,699 - Yamunanagar: 68,445 *District-wise New Recruitments in 2025 (Showing Mere Token Placements)*- Kaithal: 14 - Ambala: 32 - Charkhi Dadri: 37 - Faridabad: 57 - Fatehabad: 23 - Gurugram: 176 - Hisar: 62 - Jhajjar: 24 - Jind: 57 - Karnal: 15 - Kurukshetra: 52 - Mahendragarh: 11 - Nuh: 58 - Palwal: 63 - Panchkula: 79 - Panipat: 7 - Rewari: 35 - Rohtak: 25 - Sirsa: 61 - Sonipat: 35 - Yamunanagar: 10 MSID:: 128816146 413 |
