A 35-year-old woman security guard of GMCH-32 was allegedly stabbed by his brother, nephew and others at her house in Dadu Majra on Monday night. Maloya police have registered a case and efforts are on to arrest the other accused, the cops said.

CHANDIGARH: A 35-year-old woman security guard of GMCH-32 was allegedly stabbed by his brother, nephew and others at her house in Dadu Majra on Monday night. Maloya police have registered a case and efforts are on to arrest the other accused, the cops said.
In her complaint, Shakila Bano, a resident of Dadu Majra village, alleged that her brother Sharif Mohammad (38), her nephew Akhtar Ali (19) and her mother Sado, along with three other persons, forcibly barged into her room on the first floor of the house around 8pm on Monday.

They started abusing her and demanded that she should vacate the house. Shakila alleged that her brother and mother held her with hands while her nephew allegedly stabbed her with a sharp-edged weapon in her abdomen and waist. After injuring her badly all accused fled the spot.
The complainant said she dialled 100, but found it to be connected with Punjab’s police control room. She added that she was aware about the new emergency number 112. Meanwhile, she hired an auto-rickshaw with the help of others and reached GMCH-32. The victim later dialled 112 and informed UT police about the stabbing. On getting this information, Maloya police reached the hospital and recorded her statement.
On the statement of Shakila, Maloya police registered a case against the accused under Sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC and started a probe. Shakila said she had been living alone in the house while her family members were living in Dadu Majra. She has a property dispute with her family members and a case is pending in the local court, she added.
