CHANDIGARH: World Tourism Week's fourth day began with schoolchildren's painting competition on the theme, "Chandigarh - the city beautiful" and "Chandigarh - the mecca of architecture" in Rock Garden on Wednesday.
Around 120 students from various government schools of the city participated in it. Students captured the beauty of tourist sites, including Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake and Rose Garden, in their paintings.

The results of on the spot painting competition were declared on the same day and the winners were felicitated with cash prizes. In the first category, the first prize was bagged by Ashu of Govt Senior Secondary School, Sector 15C. The second and third prize went to Jaspinder of GMSSS 26D and Himanshu from ISTC, Sector 30, respectively. The consolation prizes went to Rohit Kumar from Government High School, Sector 32 and Chandini of GMSSS 26, Timber Market. In the second category, students' created visuals of Chandigarh architecture. The best entry was created in poster, with impressive and forceful strokes and touches.
