CHANDIGARH: Four days after the kidnapping of three-year-old Harmini, accused Jagpal called the child's parents and asked them to withdraw the case, failing which he would shoot the child and commit suicide.
Sources said he also instructed Harmini's father HarishArora to submit an affidavit in his favour with the police. The call was intercepted and involvement of Jagpal's brother-in-law, Raju, was also established.

Jagpal and Chirag stayed at Raju's house in Hisar. Jagpal reportedly wants Harish to withdraw the case and get the media to publish reports of the withdrawal.
Meanwhile, Chandigarh police are taking recourse to pressure tactics in a bid to force the accused to surrender. They are repeatedly rounding up family members of the accused, Jagpal Bainwal and his woman friend Chirag in Hisar and Delhi. The call was intercepted. Mobile surveillance of the accused revealed that Jagpal and Chirag have stopped communicating with their two accomplices, who are not with them, on mobile. A police party, which rounded up relatives of Jagpal in Hisar, returned and a fresh team was dispatched on Saturday.
Harmini was kidnapped from a hotel room in Sector 22. Sources said questioning of the relatives of the girl revealed that Jagpal was not aware of the consequences of kidnapping the child.
