Khel Mahotsav’ off to a roaring start in Pkl

Panchkula: The ‘Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025' commenced Saturday with a grand opening ceremony at Tau Devi Lal Stadium here.It started with a marathon for men (10km) and women (5km), flagged off amid cheers from thousands of young participants and citizens. Popular Haryanvi singer Masoom Sharma was the guest of honour, infusing the atmosphere with a spirit of patriotism.The Mahotsav is being organised across Ambala, Panchkula, and Yamunanagar districts under the Ambala parliamentary constituency, with a record-breaking 1,02,032 registrations, making it one of the largest public-participation sports festivals in Haryana. Competitions are being held in five major sports disciplines: cricket, kho-kho, kabaddi, badminton, and athletics. MP Rekha Sharma said "‘Sansad Khel Mahotsav' is not merely a sports event; it is a celebration of youth energy, unity, and fitness. With over one lakh participants, this Mahotsav reflects the sportsmanship and enthusiasm of Haryana's youth." tnn
