KARNAL: In order to control spread of Hepatitis and Cholera, Karnal district Magistrate RS Doon has launched a campaign in the district.
Of late, there were reports of more cases of Hepatitis and Cholera in different private and government hospitals. Medical experts told TNN that with onset of summer season and rains, water borne diseases quickly spread in rural as well as urban areas.
As first step Doon promulgated an order banning sale of raw fruit, aerated water, ice-cream, candies, different type of fruit juices without proper guidelines and hygienic measures.

Keeping these drinks and eatables before naked eyes was also banned. Secondly, teams of para-medical staff visited homes of citizens in different Mohallas asking them to get themselves vaccinated against Hepatitis. A two day camp for giving such injections was also organised.
Doon also called meetings of health staff and instructed them to check sale of adulterated drinks and launch information campaign in public about these diseases.
