With the completion of the bridge, there would be less congestion near the railway station and bus stand in Ambala Cantonment.
A senior Railway official said the bridge dates back to the British time and was made about a century ago. “It was declared unsafe for use over a decade ago and the modification work started in November 2015. The railways at that time had planned to get the work completed by the end of 2016, however, due to lack of coordination between various departments and technical glitches, the work had remained in limbo,” the official said. “Apparently, the modification work on the
