K J Singh murder: Cops detain five more

: The police on Wednesday rounded up five more suspects in the

KJ Singh

murder case. These five are accomplices of the previous five suspects rounded up, said sources in police. Sources added that the five had been rounded up after scrutinising mobile phone records of previous suspects. The other five have been brought to CIA headquarters in Kharar, said police.

Sources in the police department said the previous five suspects, who had been picked up on the basis of

CCTV

footage, were taken to Crime Investigating Agency (CIA) office in Kharar and were interrogated separately in presence of Mohali SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal.

Although Chahal did not disclose the interrogation details, he said police are questioning the suspects and will soon reach a conclusion. He said, “As the CCTV grabs showed the suspects making videos of the area around

’s house, they have been rounded up for interrogation. Police is doing their work and results will follow soon.”

Police said the suspects-Vickey, Arshdeep and

Arpit

from Raikot, Gurinder from Sangrur, Balwinder from Jagraon and Satnam Singh from Malerkotla have been regularly quizzed in the case.

Earlier, the cops also quizzed Ajay Pal and V K Singh, the nephew and the brother of K J Singh respectively, at the Industrial Area, Phase VIII police post. Sources in police department said Ajay was being questioned for his stay with K J and the time spent with him at the house.

Similarly, brother V K Singh was questioned about the property which according to their mother’s will was to be equally divided between KJ and VK.

Interestingly till date, police have also failed to trace K J’s green car which went missing since the murders took place. Police had also said, the CCTV grabs of cameras at Phase 3/5 traffic lights crossing showed that a clean shaven man wearing a white shirt drove away the KJ’s Ford Ikon car.

Police has also failed to get the sketch made of a suspect found smoking a cigarette while standing in green belt next to the KJ’s house on the fateful night.

SSP also said police have so far recorded the statements of three family members and probing the role of an insider in the case.

KJ and his mother Gurcharan Kaur were found murdered on September 24 in their house in Phase 3B2. The murder was detected by his nephew and his sister, who had come to give lunch to KJ and his mother.
