Jhelum Express derailed, passengers bear brunt

CHANDIGARH: Hundreds of passengers of

Amritsar-Chandigarh Express

were harassed and suggested to travel to Amritsar from Chandigarh through other resources due to the derailment of

Jhelum Express

near Ludhiana on Tuesday. The express train, which started from Chandigarh for Amritsar, at 7am was cancelled along with other trains. Meanwhile, the passengers were refund their ticket fares at Chandigarh Railway station. Sources in railways maintained, "The information about the cancellation of train has been arrived about 20 minutes after the derailing of Jhelum express in

Ferozpur

railway division." Amritsar-Chandigarh Express, which returned from Amritsar to Chandigarh at 9pm, was also cancelled.
