Woman wanted to meet CM over land dispute

It is still not confirmed that she committed suicide but the police have started a probe based on the premise. The security personnel at the CM's residence apparently did not allow the woman to enter on Wednesday or Thursday. When she fell unconscious after allegedly ingesting something, the UT police rushed her to GMSH-16, where she died during treatment. Her body was moved to the mortuary and the post-mortem will be conducted on Friday. The police have initiated initial proceedings after filing a case under Section 174 of CrPC.

According to her son, the woman hada gone to Chandigarh on Wednesday and had been trying to give a written complaint to the CM about a land dispute with her brothers and sisters-in-law in Kapurthala after getting no response from police. He told TOI that the police call about his mother's death came as a "huge shock and surprise."
