MAJITHA: The groundswell of people in grain market of small Majitha assembly constituency organized by cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia not only brought a smile on the face of SAD-BJP nominee Arun Jaitley but also made him 'predict' the outcome of polls.
Seeing a huge crowd for the first time in his maiden election campaign in Amritsar, Jaitley, with folded hands, pleaded before people of Majitha and nearby villages to give BJP a complete majority.
1x1 polls

"I am overwhelmed with your presence which has also given me an indication of victory in the ensuing elections," said Jaitley while addressing during the rally.
However, he urged the people to give an extra push to increase SAD-BJP's seats with additional two to three percent.
"I have seen the mood here , please don't give us fractured majority but the full majority and I assure you that I will leave no stone unturned in fulfilling your demands and providing all what you people need" said Jaitley.
He said all the Congress ministers from Punjab had proved to be useless and were either involved in scams or had been sidelined or were even reluctant to face the people of Punjab. Jaitley also showered praise upon Majithia and Parkash Singh Badal for their support to ensure his victory.

In his address Badal hit hard at former Chief Minister and Congress candidate Captain Amarinder Singh for his alleged provocative and factually distorted statements. Badal said he had respect for each and every one but Captain was surpassing the limits.
Resorting to his aggressive tone Bikram Singh Majithia warned that the Congress leaders and MLAs were welcome to campaign and canvass in Majitha constituency but if they created any mischief, they will be dealt with iron hands "Amarinder seems to be bitten by the Majithia Fobia. I want to tell Captain that the people of Majha shower love and affection but they do not tolerate the threats and can deal with those who issue threats", said Majithia. He said Captain's rail had been derailed at many a times by the public and when he used the words `Khoonda Ferunga' (Will use stick for Akalis) in 2012 assembly elections, the people gave him a befitting reply".
"I know Captain Sahib never talk on issues but believe more in sticks and threats. But when you were not available to the people of Patiala, how will you take time out to be available to the people of Amritsar," asked Majithia He said Congress leader Santokh Chaudhary had already publicly stated the Congress was selling tickets to Rajas and Maharajas at the cost of the party workers. He said the people's presence shows that thee will make Jaitley win the seat by a heavy margin.
BJP Punjab President Kamal Sharma also spoke on the occasion and demanded support from the people. The slogans of Badal Jindabad, Jaitley Jindabad and Majithia Jindabad were raised by the public. Cabinet Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike, Chief Parliamentary secretary Inderbir Singh Bolaria, former MP Rajmohinder Singh Majitha, former MLA Vir Singh Lopoke and senior leaders were present on the occasion.
