Jagmeet scared of Sukhbir, claims Badal
MUKTSAR: Shiromani Akali Dal (B) chief Parkash Singh Badal, on Sunday, claimed that Jagmeet Singh Brar was fleeing from contesting against his son Sukhbir Badal by shifting his constituency from Faridkot to Ferozepur.
"Jagmeet Brar, who once claimed himself as Awaz-e-Punjab (voice of Punjab) is not even Awaz-e-Faridkot now," said Badal while addressing a public rally at Muktsar.

Badal addressed about 10 public rallies in favour of his son Sukhbir at Muktsar on Sunday and in almost of them he raised the issue of Jagmeet shying away from contesting against his son in Faridkot.Badal said that from a village level to its central committee, the Congress is on the verge of a split. "A vertical split in Punjab Congress is already visible, let the phase of Lok Sabha elections be completed, and the party at central level will be divided into two parts. Annoyed with Sonia for her incompetence, many senior Congress leaders will cause a division in the party after the elections," claimed Badal.
In the Akalis’s campaign of ridiculing Jagmeet, Congress leaders are facing an embarrassing situation. The failure of the party in not being able to project any leader for this important seat is adding to the frustration of Congress leaders.
At the moment when Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, president Lok Bhalai Party, has no more chances of contesting from the Faridkot seat under an alliance with the Congress, the only Congress leader coming forward to seek party ticket for Faridkot is Surinder Gupta, chairman of Improvement Trust.
Gupta is meeting senior state and central party leaders to convince them to allot the party ticket to him. He was one of the five leaders whose name was recommended by district Congress committee for the ticket.
Though no Congress leader of Moga, Muktsar and Faridkot is opposing the candidature of Gupta, Jagmeet’s detractors want him to contest the election from Faridkot so that they could have some rejoice in his defeat.
