Intensify welfare delivery and grievance redressal: CM to officers
Chandigarh: Stressing accountability and last-mile delivery in governance, Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday directed officers and Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates to intensify efforts for effective implementation of welfare schemes and speedy resolution of public grievances at the grassroots level.Chairing a high-level review meeting at Sant Kabir Kutir in Chandigarh, the CM said the real success of governance lies in ensuring that govt services and welfare benefits reach the last person in society efficiently and transparently. He asked officials to deal with citizens' issues with greater sensitivity and ensure time-bound redressal of complaints.Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047', Saini said good governance associates should act as a strong bridge between the govt and the public by providing real-time feedback from the field and helping strengthen the implementation of policies across sectors. He said even the smallest grievance raised by citizens should be treated seriously and resolved without delay, adding that effective delivery of schemes at the grassroots level was the true benchmark of good governance.During the meeting, good governance associates from different batches and sectors shared field experiences and feedback from across Haryana. The CM directed them to submit detailed notes to the Chief Minister's Office, highlighting challenges faced during implementation, coordination with departments, progress in projects and areas requiring policy intervention or administrative support.Saini said grassroots feedback played a crucial role in making welfare schemes more result-oriented and citizen-centric. He asked officials and associates to maintain regular coordination and proactive engagement with the people to ensure prompt action on public issues.Detailed discussions were also held on education, healthcare services, Deendayal welfare schemes, water management, Jansamvad grievance redressal and other flagship programmes. The CM further instructed officers to ensure regular monitoring of schemes to maintain transparency and the timely delivery of services. He also sought prompt and concrete action on complaints received under the Jansamvad programme.Chief principal secretary Rajesh Khullar, deputy principal secretary Yashpal Yadav and OSD Rajesh Sandhu were also present in the meeting.MSID:: 131281625 413 |
