INLD protests outside HPSC office over ‘bias against Haryana youth in govt recruitment’
Chandigarh: The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on Monday staged a protest outside the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) office in Panchkula, alleging irregularities in govt recruitment and discrimination against Haryana youth in Group A and B appointments.A delegation led by INLD functionaries, including Abhay Chautala, Sampat Singh and Rampal Majra, submitted a memorandum to the governor through the Panchkula ADC, seeking intervention and a review of recruitment practices.Addressing reporters, Chautala accused BJP govt of favouring candidates from BJP-ruled states while overlooking qualified youth from Haryana. He alleged that PhD holders, NET-qualified aspirants and MTech graduates were not getting suitable opportunities despite their qualification. He claimed that a majority of Group A and B gazetted posts had gone to candidates from outside Haryana and demanded a halt to HPSC recruitments until the allegations were investigated.Chautala also alleged that the govt attempted to escalate tensions during the protest by putting up barricades, though he said the demonstration remained peaceful.Hirings transparent: CMChief minister Nayab Singh Saini defended the recruitment process of the HPSC and HSSC, saying appointments were being made transparently and strictly on merit. He termed the opposition's criticism politically motivated and said the Constitution allows eligible candidates to seek employment anywhere in the country.
