Industrialists skip state-level Vishvkarma day programme
Ludhiana: A state-level programme to commemorate the birth anniversary of lord Vishwkarma, the god of craftsmanship and engineering, was organised at Guru Nanak Bhawan on Friday.
State health minister Brahm Mohindra was to attend this function as chief guest but he skipped the programme due to unknown reasons. Industrialists too skipped the event.
At the last moment, Ludhiana MP Ravneet Bittu presided over the programme with a large number of Congress leaders being present on the occasion.

District president Gurpreet Singh Gogi and MLAs Surinder Dawar, Kuldeep Singh Vaid and Sanjay Talwar were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Bittu said the progress of any state or area is only possible when the industry of the state is progressing and moving ahead with the blessings of the lord Vishwkarma.
“Punjab government is taking up various initiatives for the development and growth of the industry in the state and as well as for the welfare of the workers and other sections of the society,” the MP said.
Bittu also said the government is committed to start more programmes to make future of the youth secured and bright as well.
Others present in the program included deputy commissioner Pardeep Agarwal, congress leaders Leena Taparia, Gurdev Lapran, Amarjeet Singh Tikka, Amarjit Singh Oberoi,Major Singh Bhaini, KK Bawa.
