Indira Gandhi National Model United Nations Conference starts at LPU

JALANDHAR: The Indira Gandhi National Model United Nations Conference (IGNMUN)-Jalandhar Chapter was opened at Lovely Professional University on Saturday.
While over 1,000 delegates are participating in the event, each delegate is to take part in a simulation of the United Nations or another body and gain better insight into the subtleties of international affairs.LPU is collaborating for conduction of the conference at its different venues of the campus. On the inaugural ceremony former Union Home Minister & former Governor of Punjab Shivraj Patil was the Chief Guest and former Chief Minister Punjab Rajinder Kaur Bhattal was the Guest of Honour along with former Delhi CM Shiela Dikshit. LPU chancellor Ashok Mittal was also present on the occasion.
During the conference, participating student-delegates, will discuss various issues for possible solutions. As such the conference offers opportunity to delegates to engage in special interactive sessions with eminent guest speakers to discuss key issues and formulate creative and practical solutions for the problems being faced presently.
The aim of the conference is also to encourage individuals who are interested in ideating and debating on key national and global issues.
