INDIA bloc to defeat BJP like UPA did 20 years ago: Jairam Ramesh
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh has said that history would repeat itself after 20 years as INDIA bloc was set to defeat BJP in the same manner the UPA had ousted the NDA govt from power in 2004.
Ramesh, who was here to campaign for party candidate Kumari Selja, expressed confidence that the INDIA bloc will sweep all the 10 parliamentary constituencies in Haryana besides winning the assembly elections scheduled to be held in October.
Recalling the events of 2004 Lok Sabha elections which BJP had fought on the theme of “India Shining” under the leadership of then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Ramesh said that nobody that time believed that the BJP would lose.
“But the Congress-led UPA made that happen and it is going to make that happen again,” he said.
The Congress general secretary said that the people of the country have realised that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was spreading an “epidemic of lies” in the country by repeatedly lying about everything.
