In Moga, Amit Shah set to pitch for ‘Badlaav’ in Punjab on March 14
Chandigarh: Union home minister Amit Shah will address a ‘Badlaav Rally' of Punjab BJP in Moga on March 14.Punjab BJP working president Ashwani Sharma, who described Shah as the "country's and BJP's biggest leader", said the rally will come with a tagline: "Aao miljul ke badliye Punjab; sukhi rahe saada Punjab (Let's usher in a change in Punjab, may Punjab remain prosperous)."
The rally will be held around the time when the AAP govt in Punjab would complete four years in power on March 16, Sharma said. "In these four years, far from fulfilling electoral guarantees and promises, AAP govt has even failed to ensure the rule of law. Govt took U-turns on every promise made before coming to power," he added.Sharma added that every section of Punjab was distressed on all fronts, and had made up its mind to oust AAP. "People now consider the BJP a reliable and credible alternative for change," he added.Sharma added law and order in Punjab was in a shambles, while corruption linked to drug and mining mafias was rampant. "Health and education systems are deteriorating, and employees are not receiving salaries and pensions on time," he added. He accused AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and CM Bhagwant Mann of misusing Punjab Police, otherwise credited for eliminating terrorism from the state, in settling political scores with opponents. "What started from [Singer Sidhu] Moose Wala [murder] to kabaddi players' [murders] reached your sarpanches' [murders], but Punjab Police appeared helpless to counter the gangster, terror elements, and the extortionists," he said.
