CHANDIGARH: Four persons, including son of a former MC commissioner were arrested for allegedly assaulting a person and firing in the air outside Black Magic discotheque at the IT Park.
The incident took place on the intervening night of October 25-26. The four youths were identified as Ravinder, Maninder, Zorawar Singh Aujla (son of Punjab principal secretary PS Aujla), and his gunman Charanjeet Singh.
All are residents of Chandigarh.
Cops said Panchkula-resident Vijay Garg had arranged the birthday party of his woman colleague at the disco while a simultaneous party was also organized by Zorawar at the same venue. As the celebrations were in progress, a verbal altercation ensued between both the sides over some issue. The disco manager played mediator and cooled down the warring sides, following which a compromise was reached.
However, the matter did not end here. As soon as Garg walked out of the disco, Zorawar and his friends too followed him. With tempers already running high, Zorawar and his friends entered into a scuffle and allegedly assaulted Garg. To terrorize onlookers, Aujla's gunman Charanjeet Singh also opened fire in the air.
