AMBALA/YAMUNANAGAR: The Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) took over three historical gurdwaras in Ambala and Yamunanagar districts on Wednesday.
HSGMC president Mahant Karamjit Singh addressed media at Gurdwara Nada Sahib in Panchkula, where the charge of management was taken over by the committee late Tuesday evening.
Later, the HSGMC president and office-bearers proceeded to take charge of Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Pehli and Dasvin at Kapal Mochan in Bilaspur area of Yamunanagar, followed by Gurdwara Panjokhra Sahib in Ambala Cantonment and Gurdwara Manji Sahib in Ambala City.
In Yamunanagar, amid heavy police force, the HSGMC took charge of Gurdwara Patshahi Pehli and Dasvin at Kapal Mochan. This gurdwara was under the management of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. The charge was peacefully handed over to the HSGMC by the manager.
Mahant Karamjit Singh entrusted the service of gurdwara manager to Ravinder Singh, who was already serving as manager at Gurdwara Patshahi Pehli and Dasvin at Kapal Mochan.
The HSGMC formed a temporary panel to manage affairs at the Gurdwara Kapal Mochan, comprising Surender Singh Mandebar, Harpreet Singh, Manmohan Singh, Rajinder Singh and Daljit Singh Bajwa.
In Ambala, the HSGMC office-bearers took charge of Gurdwara Panjokhra Sahib, associated with Guru Harkrishan Sahib.
