Chandigarh: Haryana is all set to start a collaboration of projects with business entities of Ethiopia, a country in the East Africa, through entrepreneurs of the state. The move is consequent to business to business meeting of delegates from Haryana with their counterparts in Ethiopia recently held in New Delhi and NCR. According to information, the fields where Haryana entrepreneurs will set up their business include pharma, food processing, leather goods manufacturing.

On the other hand, Ethiopian entrepreneurs have shown interests in IT and allied industries to be set up in NCR and other destinations of the state.
Pawan Choudhary, an advisor to the CM Khattar, said besides Ethiopa, Uganda and Latin America are among the countries where foreign cooperation department is actively working to develop business ties.
“We are making all out efforts to have maximum ventures with the African countries these days. Keeping in view the efforts, the African government as well as government of Rawanda have agreed to have Haryana as the main participating state on Africa Day and Uganda day. This is just a begining,’’ said Chaudhary.
Notaly, for the past two years, Haryana claims to have seen a significant jump in exports orders as well as revenue on the account of campaigns run by foreign cooperation department.
In 2021-22, Haryana had exports worth Rs 85,000 crore which is expected to go upto Rs 1,15,000 crore. Besides this, the government has been able to mange 20 more major projects by major giants from South Korea, Japan and other countries to expand and to set up their business in Haryana.
