Chandigarh: Former Indian hockey captain, Olympian Ajit Pal Singh’s wife Kiran Ajit Pal Singh passed away on Saturday. Kiran, 69, died in New Delhi after suffering a brief illness. She is survived by her husband and two sons. Her last rites will be performed in New Delhi on Sunday. Punjab sports minister Gurmeet Singh ‘Meet’ Hayer shared his grief with Olympian.

Sultanpur Lodhi: Sarai Jattan villager Balwinder Singh, a man deported from the US, who had posted a “committing suicide” video before his mother-in-law was found murdered inside her house at Puda Colony here on Thursday, died on Friday night after being found gasping on a roadside at Kahna Mithra village. He had consumed poison. Cops said he recorded a video, blaming his wife for pushing him to the edge.
