Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister
Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday announced that the state’s first civil airport at Hisar would be named after Maharaja Agrasen. The chief minister said the decision is his government’s tribute to Maharaja Agrasen.
Describing the Hisar airport as a huge project, Khattar said his government was taking consistent steps to develop it as an international airport.
The integrated aviation hub in Hisar will not only play a pivotal role in revolutionising Haryana’s civil aviation sector but would also ensure immense possibilities of employment in fields such as air training, air handling and repair, he added.
The Hisar airport became Haryana’s first DGCA licensed public aerodrome on September 27, 2018. Work to upscale the airport is being carried out at present and after all mandatory clearances, the runway construction work under Phase-II of Integrated Aviation Hub Hisar is in progress.
Kulbhushan Goyal, president of Aggarwal Sammelan and Panchkula mayor, along with Haryana Aggarwal Vaishya Samaj president Ashok Buwaniwala has welcomed the decision to name the Hisar after Maharaja Agarsen.
