Ludhiana: Three drums each carrying 50 kg of desi ghee have been sealed by the health department and the samples will be sent to the Chandigarh State laboratory for purity test following a complaint by the owner of a dairy shop.
Harsh Gupta owner of Nandi Dairy, 33 Feet Road, Jamalpur got the ghee checked and after finding it to be impure, informed the cops from the Jamalpur Station.
He further added, “Deepak Kumar from Shahcot, came to deliver the ghee and after finding it impure called the police. I had a doubt as many people were complaining about its purity and that is why I got it checked.”
Cops further called officials of the health department to look into the matter and take a necessary action.
Dr Andhesh Kang, district health officer (DHO) added, “Samples have been sent to the Chandigarh State lab for purity test. After getting the reports, further action will be taken accordingly.”
Kumar the delivery boy said, “My job is just limited to delivering the stuff. The truck comes from from Pawan Singla in Jagraon and I just help in delivery.”
