SHIMLA: Has Himachal Pradesh''s agriculture minister Vidya Sagar resigned? Officially no, said the minister, but he did not attend office on Saturday and even surrendered his official car, giving strong indications that he has put in his papers and is waiting for the chief minister, who is in Kullu, to accept his resignation.
Vidya Sagar admitted that he had not attended office and that he had surrendered his official vehicle.
Asked why he had done so, he said the government had not announced reservation of 27 per cent for OBCs as promised by it.
Development works in Kangra constituency, which he represents, were suffering for want of funds, said Vidya Sagar. He said that he was not being consulted in matters relating to the transfers of employees of his department.
Vidya Sagar, however, said that he was not much concerned about the delimitation proposals in the working paper submitted to the commission associate members, as it did not affect his constituency very much.
"But I am with the people of Kangra district as far as reduction of the number of assembly segments from 16 to 15 is concerned," he added.
