Chandigarh: Despite the model code of conduct restrictions for the May 10 elections to seven civic bodies, Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday launched the Haryana Online Building Plan Approval System – a digital platform for approving building plans for residential units within the civic bodies' jurisdiction. He also initiated the process of sending J-Forms to farmers via WhatsApp.Govt officials denied violating the model code of conduct as part of the ongoing and existing projects. This system will save time, curb corruption and ensure accountability in work, said Saini. The CM said people would no longer have to make rounds of govt offices and the entire process will become faster, transparent and simpler. Before implementation of the new system, architects and urban local body officials will be given special training so that the general public does not face any inconvenience, he added.Saini said J-Forms were sent to farmers through WhatsApp on Friday and would continue to be delivered in the same manner in the future. On April 25, the govt announced that J-Forms related to wheat, mustard, and gram sold at MSP during the ongoing Rabi procurement season would be sent to farmers through WhatsApp.The CM informed that till May 6, around 5.78 lakh farmers sold their produce in mandis. A total of 13.77 lakh J-Forms have been issued to these farmers. The facility has been introduced in the state for the first time. Now, farmers will not have to visit commission agents to collect their J-Forms, he added.Saini said the DBTs on Friday included the seventh instalment of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, subsidy amount under the Har Ghar-Har Grihini Yojana, compensation for Kharif crop-2025, amount under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana and social security pension benefits. The CM further said that Rs 205 crore had been transferred into the accounts of 9.76 lakh beneficiary women as part of the seventh instalment of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana.
