Haryana govt finalises procurement processes, key projects worth Rs 1,028 crore
Chandigarh: To accelerate development works in the state, the Haryana govt has finalised procurement processes and key projects of various departments. The decision was taken during a meeting of the High-Powered Purchase Committee held at Haryana Niwas on Wednesday. During the meeting, approval was granted for expenditure of around Rs 1,028 crore on projects across over 10 departments, including the Haryana Police Housing Corporation, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC), public works department, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation Limited, Directorate of Medical Education and Research Haryana (DMER), Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA), Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), the Haryana irrigation department and the Public Health Engineering Department Haryana (PHED). Negotiations with bidders resulted in savings of approximately Rs 96 crore.While chairing the meeting, chief minister Nayab Singh Saini said the primary objective of the govt is to provide better quality services to the people of the state. He directed officials to ensure regular monitoring of all projects so that they are completed within stipulated timelines and meet quality standards. He added that he would personally review the progress of projects and emphasised that all officers must ensure judicious use of funds.
Any negligence in development works will not be tolerated.During the meeting, procurement processes for 11-metre-long PCC poles, single-phase and three-phase net meters, and 25 KVA transformers were finalised. Additionally, approval was granted for commodity procurement worth Rs 29 crore under the supplementary nutrition programme as part of the ‘Har-Hith' retail project of Haryana Agro Industries Corporation Limited.A project worth Rs 5.7 crore was approved for implementing the ‘Student and Faculty Life Cycle Management System' (SFLM) in govt medical colleges of the state, aimed at enhancing efficiency and integration in the medical education system. Moreover, a project worth Rs 6.6 crore was approved for conducting surveys and preparing a DPR for storm water diversion from Gurugram metropolitan area towards the Yamuna River.Under infrastructure development, Rs 47.2 crore was sanctioned for the construction of a Home Guard and Civil Defence Training Centre in Hasanpur village of Karnal. Rs 17.7 crore was approved for a master water supply scheme in Faridabad, while Rs 17.7 crore was also sanctioned for the construction of a 100 MLD MPS and a 100 MLD STP at Dhanwapur in Gurugram.An amount of Rs 101 crore will be spent on constructing a main pumping station with a capacity of 665.5 MLD in Gurugram. Additionally, Rs 20 crore was approved for the development of Atal Park in Sector-1, Panchkula, and Rs 109.80 crore for the construction of a world-class shooting range sports complex in Sector-32.
