Chandigarh: Haryana has 668 accredited training centres under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0, with over 600 industry-aligned courses introduced in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, robotics, drone technology, cybersecurity, logistics and green hydrogen, the Centre informed Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
The information came in response to a starred question raised by Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma, who sought details on the implementation of PMKVY 4.0 in the state, including district-level coverage, sectoral training, emerging technology courses and industry partnerships.
According to the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship, the scheme is being implemented in Haryana through short-term training and recognition of prior learning to improve employability among youth.
The ministry also said over 194 educational institutions in Haryana are now delivering skilling programmes under PMKVY 4.0.
Reacting to the reply, Sharma said the scheme was helping prepare Haryana's youth for future job opportunities. She also welcomed its convergence with flagship programmes such as PM Vishwakarma, India AI Mission and National Green Hydrogen Mission, saying it was strengthening employment avenues for young people in the state.
