BJP sweeps Haryana civic polls, wins 6 of 7 key posts

The BJP delivered a dominant performance in the May 10 Haryana civic body elections, winning six out of seven key posts across six districts, according to results announced Wednesday.

The party secured mayoral victories in Ambala, Panchkula, and Sonipat municipal corporations, tightening its political grip on the state just two months after a closely fought Rajya Sabha election.

This sweeping victory is seen as a big win for chief minister Nayab Singh Saini. Political observers credit the success to a combination of aggressive campaigning and a highly disciplined booth-level organisational network. Beyond the mayoral seats, the BJP's won nearly 90% of the ward seats in Ambala, Panchkula, and Sonipat, leaving the Congress far behind.
