The Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday welcomed the decision of the UPA government to enforce one rank-one pension norm in the country.

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday welcomed the decision of the UPA government to enforce one rank-one pension norm in the country.
"It is good news. I heartily welcome the decision. We are happy that our demand for one-rank-one-pension which the Haryana Government has been pressing hard has been finally conceded by the Central Government," said Hooda.

"We are grateful to the UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi, and the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, for taking the long awaited decision. I convey my special thanks to the AICC Vice-President, Rahul Gandhi, who has been pursuing the matter vigorously for quite some time", the Chief Minister added. Lakhs of Defence personnel and ex-servicemen of Haryana would be benefitted from this decision.
Haryana Power Minister, Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav also welcomed the decision of UPA Government to implement 'One Rank-One Pension' Scheme in the interim budget 2014-15 and described it as a big bonanza for the Defence Personnel.
Capt. Yadav said that every 10th soldier in armed forces belongs to Haryana therefore this decision has great significance with regard to the State.
