Haryana brings 29 labour board services under Right to Service
Chandigarh: Haryana govt on Wednesday brought a total of 29 services of Haryana Labour Welfare Board under the ambit of the Haryana Right to Service Act, 2014, and fixed time limits for the delivery of these services. A notification was issued by chief secretary Anurag Rastogi in this regard.The notified services include financial assistance for school uniforms, books and notebooks for the children of workers from Class I to XII, scholarships, coaching for entrance examinations for vocational courses, and financial assistance for preparation for the main examination after clearing the preliminary examination of UPSC and HPSC. In addition, financial assistance to the children of workers for participation in sports competitions and cultural competitions was also notified.
Financial assistance for the marriage of women workers and daughters of workers under the Kanyadaan scheme, Shagun assistance for the marriage of male workers and their sons, and maternity assistance for women workers and wives of male workers were also brought under the Right to Service Act. Further, services providing assistance for dental treatment, spectacles, bicycles, sewing machines for women workers, LTC, disability, artificial limbs, hearing aids/hearing assistive devices, tricycles, and financial assistance for visually impaired, physically or mentally disabled children of workers were also notified. A time limit of 60 days was fixed for all these services.The notification also includes financial assistance to dependants of deceased workers, assistance under the Mukhya Mantri Samajik Suraksha Yojana for deceased workers, and financial assistance for the last rites of deceased workers. A time limit of 15 days was prescribed for these services.Additionally, services under the Haryana Silicosis Rehabilitation Policy were also brought under the ambit of the Haryana Right to Service Act. These include rehabilitation assistance for workers affected by silicosis, silicosis rehabilitation pension, family pension, financial assistance for children's education, and financial assistance for the marriage of girls and boys. A time limit of 60 days was fixed for these services, while 15 days were prescribed for post-death assistance and funeral assistance.
