Chandigarh: Haryana BJP president Archana Gupta on Monday interacted with more than 150 ‘Lakhpati Didis' associated with the Pragatisheel Tagore Self-Help Group in Bawania village of Mahendragarh district and reviewed their income-generation activities.During the programme, Gupta interacted with women associated with self-help groups, purchased products made by them and felicitated several members for their achievements.Addressing the gathering, Gupta said women's economic self-reliance was key to overall social and economic development. She said initiatives launched by the Centre had helped expand opportunities for women through self-help groups and entrepreneurship.Gupta said women in rural areas were increasingly becoming financially independent through skill-based activities and collective enterprise. She encouraged the participants to continue pursuing entrepreneurship and group-based economic initiatives.Several women shared their experiences and said participation in self-help groups had helped improve their incomes. They credited government-supported training programmes and financial assistance schemes for supporting their businesses.Gupta reiterated the commitment of the Centre and the Haryana government towards women's empowerment and said the success of 'Lakhpati Didis' was encouraging greater participation of women in economic activities.
