Gurugram-based IT firm contributes Rs 36L under CSR for Saraswati river revival in Haryana
Chandigarh: In a first initiative of its kind, a Gurugram-based IT company has chipped in for the revival of the Saraswati river in Haryana and contributed Rs 36 lakh to Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) fund for the Saraswati Heritage Development Board.Sandeep Passey, the managing director of Inter Soft, the IT company, formally handed over the cheque to the CM at the his residence. Saini passed on the cheque to Dhuman Singh Kirmich, the vice chairperson of the Saraswati Development Board.Notably, the move is consequent to the efforts of the foreign cooperative department. Praising the IT company for their contribution, the CM said such initiatives reflect the growing participation of the private sector in preserving Haryana's cultural and historical legacy. He emphasised that reviving the Saraswati river remains one of the state govt's top priorities, and consistent efforts are being made to restore it.Saini added that along with development, the govt is equally focused on reviving and preserving its cultural heritage for future generations. He said the involvement of citizens and private organisations in the Saraswati river revival project sets an inspiring example of collaborative efforts.Notably, this is the second time the company has contributed to any project of the Haryana govt in the past three years. Earlier in 2023, the company contributed its CSR funds during the regime of then CM Manohar Lal Khattar."Given the pace of the project and the results achieved by the board so far, we are hopeful of a long association with the board for this project," said Passey.Deputy chairperson of the Saraswati Heritage Development Board, Dhuman Singh Kirmach, and advisor of the foreign cooperation department, Pawan Choudhary, also remained present on the occasion.
