Govt staffers stage dharna over pensions

Chandigarh: Central and state employees on Tuesday organised a protest at Sector 17 here to observe ‘All India Resistance Day’, aiming to express dissatisfaction with the ongoing privatisation campaign and the neglect of employee demands. National president of All India State Government Employees Federation, Subhash Lamba, secretaries N D Tiwari and Gopal Dutt Joshi, and NEC member Rajendra Katoch were also present in the demonstration. A memorandum was also given to the SDM. Lamba said restoration of old pensions, regularization of outsourced contract workers, and filling of lakhs of vacant posts should be done in response to the ongoing nationwide movement of central and state employees.
