Govt gives Rs 5L to help veteran actor Satish Kaul
Ludhiana: The state government has provided Rs 5 lakh as financial assistance to the ailing veteran actor Satish Kaul. The SDM Sagar Setia visited the actor and handed over the cheque to him on Saturday.
Chief minister Amarinder Singh had taken note of this news reports and directed Ludhiana deputy commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal to send a detailed report about the needs and requirements of the veteran actor to his office immediately.
A few days back, Agrawal had met Satish Kaul at his house and had sought details of his needs and requirements.
SDM (West) Sagar Setia said Kaul had asked the deputy commissioner to help him as he had been living a life in penury for the past several years. Kaul had demanded that the pension that he was getting from Punjabi University, Patiala, should be restarted; should be provided with free medicines and treatment; a house to live in and an attendant boy to help him. The SDM informed that a report regarding the same has already been sent to the state government.
After receiving the financial aid, Satish Kaul thanked the chief minister and Punjab government for helping him in this hour of need.
