Goons loot Rs 6 lakh from courier company

LUDHIANA: In yet another incident of loot in the city, three miscreants allegedly looted over Rs 6 lakh from the office of a courier company in Industrial area on Thursday morning.
According to police, Rajesh Verma - booking clerk of Red Express courier - was working till late night when three armed goons entered the office with knives. The trio got away with cash amounting to Rs 6,01,019 after locking Verma in the toilet.
Verma somehow managed to get out of the toilet in the morning and informed the police. After getting information, cops from division number six police reached the spot and started investigation.
Police sources said that according to courier company officials thieves had struck at the office early this year as well.
