BATHINDA: National disaster response force (NDRF) rescued four persons including a 16-year boy, stranded in flood water at Teja Rohella village, situated at zero line close to international border with Pakistan.
A team of NDRF had got the information that a boy had been stranded in the flood waters while he was trying to reach at safe place along with others from his village. Though others succeeded in reaching out of flood waters, a boy was stuck. Seeing him, three people from the village headed to rescue him and they also got stuck. The three villagers stopped under a tree by holding its branches near the boy, who too held a branch.
When the NDRF team reached to rescue the boy, the team seeing three more, also rescued them.
The boy was identified as 16-year-old Sajan. He was directly taken to an ambulance where the boy was given first aid.
A team of NDRF comprising 30 personnel with 4 motorboats, is stationed at Kavawali village in Fazilka district from where it is undertaking rescue operations in over 20 villages which are badly impacted due to flood waters.
Apart from NDRF, the Fazilka district administration has also approached the Indian Army and a team of the army conducted recce on Wednesday and expected to reach for rescue operations from Friday, said the district officials
