Guru Nanak Dev University mourns demise of former Vice chancellor and historian Prof Grewal

AMRITSAR: Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) mourned the demise of Prof J S Grewal, the varisty’s former vice-chancellor (VC), its first dean of academic affairs and the founding head of the department of history. Serving VC Jaspal Singh Sandhu extended condolences to the bereaved family. He said Prof Grewal’s contribution to the university’s development had been commendable. “He was an institution-builder and leaves behind a great legacy. He was a historian of international repute. He gave the history of Punjab and of the Sikhs a new meaning and identity,” said Sandhu.
