Global EV hub in sight, says Saini as Haryana expands industry push
Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday said the state govt is accelerating efforts to position Haryana as a global hub for electric vehicle (EV) and automobile manufacturing, while simultaneously strengthening industrial ties with Japan to build a future-ready manufacturing ecosystem.Addressing separate high-level meetings and the Indo-Japan Conclave at Haryana Bhawan in New Delhi, the CM said Haryana is offering transparent policies, modern infrastructure, strong law and order, skilled manpower and seamless connectivity to attract global investors in EVs, auto manufacturing, logistics and green technologies.A detailed discussion was held with industry representatives and investors on developing an integrated EV and automotive ecosystem in the state. A presentation related to global EV manufacturer VinFast was also made during the meeting, highlighting investment and manufacturing opportunities in Haryana. Saini also test-drove a VinFast vehicle during the event. The CM said Haryana's proximity to Delhi-NCR, national highways and robust logistics network makes it an ideal destination for the automobile and EV sector. He added that the Haryana Enterprise Promotion Centre is providing all approvals and investor services through a single-window system to strengthen ease and speed of doing business.Highlighting Haryana's growing partnership with Japan, Saini said the state has emerged as the largest hub for Japanese industries in India, with nearly 394 Japanese industries and over 600 Japanese business establishments operating in the state. He said nine Japanese companies committed investments worth around Rs 5,000 crore during his Japan visit last year.Saini said Haryana is developing industrial townships, EV ecosystems, logistics hubs and advanced manufacturing zones across the state, including Japanese industrial projects in Jhajjar and a proposed Japanese cluster at Naraingarh. He added that Haryana is fully prepared for the next industrial revolution in sectors such as electric mobility, batteries, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, robotics and green manufacturing, while also promoting MSMEs as part of global supply chains in collaboration with Japanese industries.MSID:: 131264144 413 |
