GHM Sec 16 death: Probe team gets another week
CHANDIGARH: It has been two weeks since a mother lost her child due to the alleged indifference of staff at Government Multispecialty Hospital, Sector 16, but nothing concrete has come out of probes ordered into the incident. In fact, now a week's extension has been granted for the second inquiry and officials are tightlipped about the reason for this.

”We had to submit the report on Wednesday, but have asked for another week. The inquiry is still on and I cannot disclose anything,'' said additional deputy commissioner PS Shergill.
The histopathology report, which will establish the cause of death of the child, and the DNA report too are yet to be compiled.
“These reports do not take long and should have been submitted on priority basis,'' said a doctor.
The home secretary, unsatisfied with the internal probe, had asked for another inquiry under the ADC
and GMCH director Dr Raj Bahadur. These investigators had started the ground work three days after the inquiry was marked. As Dr Bahadur was out for a conference, the probe had to wait until he joined.
