Gang takes responsibility for murder

Amritsar: Even as the Bambiha gang has reportedly claimed responsibility for the murder of gangster Jarnail Singh, the assailants remain unidentified and are still at large.
The police are investigating the veracity of a social media post in which the gang purportedly took responsibility. A man has been detained for questioning, but his identity has been kept confidential.
Jarnail Singh was shot dead in broad daylight at his native Sathiala village on May 24.The Bambiha gang’s social media post also disputed media reports linking Jarnail Singh to the Gopi Ghanshyampura gang.
Police sources said conflicting information had complicated the investigation. tnn
