CHANDIGARH: On the second day of G20 agriculture working group (AWG) meeting here on Thursday, the delegates from 19 member nations, the European Union, 10 invitee countries and international organisations had a fun evening at the Sukhna Lake after a day filled with back-to-back sessions.

The second agricultural deputies meeting of the AWG began here Thursday morning with a welcome address by minister of state for commerce and industry, Som Parkash. Later in the evening, the delegates headed to the Lake Club at Sukhna Lake where a special G20-themed light and sound show was organised for them. Agriculture Secretary Manoj Ahuja, adviser to administrator Dharam Pal and senior Chandigarh Police officials welcomed them.

Upon arriving, the international guests couldn’t hold their feet as they danced to the Oscar-winning film RRR’s famous song ‘Naatu, Naatu’. Many also broke to the beat of dhol and bhangra here.

Later, Chandigarh police personnel hopped on pedal boats that bore flags of the guest and member nations, and entertained the delegates with boat show formations. City resident Sukhwinder Singh also tied turbans on the heads of the delegates, who felt proud to experience the Indian tradition.

After the tiring yet energetic ‘Naatu, Naatu’ performance, many lavishing dishes like saag murgh, tawa keema kaleji, makki di roti and sarso da saag, and various continental foods acted as a refreshing delight for the delegates.
