No skirts, shorts or half sleeve shirts will be allowed in schools till dengue and malaria cases are controlled, said the official.

Apart from this, the SDM has also asked the BEO to conduct awareness drives against dengue and malaria in schools. Moreover, the district health department has also set up a special dengue and malaria ward in Civil Hospital Sector-6 and Sub-Division Hospital Kalka.

“Frequency of fogging has been increased in localities, and insecticides have been sprayed on drains,” SDM Bedi said, who stressed on community participation for effective control of the disease. “A new testing lab has also been set up at the Kalka hospital for dengue and other tests,” the SDM said.
