Mansa DSP Sulakhan Singh said “town resident Pammi Kaur was not on good terms with her husband Jaggi Singh and wanted to live separately.
She came in contact with her sister Malkit Kaur of Sardulgarh and three other women, who prevailed upon Pammi Kaur in marrying off her minor daughter with a boy Sarabjit Singh of village Khilan in the district”. As Sarabjit's(the boy) mother died long back, the family agreed to pay Rs. 30,000 to the women for marrying him off to get a girl in the house for household chores, said Singh.
