BATHINDA: The former President of India Ram Nath Kovind will preside over the 9
th convocation of Central University Punjab on Tuesday.
During the convocation 864 PG/PhD degrees will be conferred, comprising 813 Post Graduate Degrees and 51 PhD Degrees. Out of the 864 PG/PhD degree recipients, 485 are male students and 379 are female students.
The Gold Medals will be awarded to 41 meritorious students securing first position in their respective disciplines. Despite less number in getting degrees the female students outshone their male counterparts by securing 28 medals, compared to the 13 earned by male students.
University VC Prof Raghavendra P Tiwari stated Ram Nath Kovind accompanied by University Chancellor Prof Jagbir Singh will also confer honorary degrees to several distinguished personalities from different walks of life.
