Five killed in mishap

patiala: five persons were killed and nine others injured on the intervening night of thursday and friday when the vehicle they were travelling in collided with a truck standing on gt road, near basantpura petrol pump on the rajpura-sirhind stretch. the ill-fated vehicle was on its way from gwalior to batala. according to sho sadar,william jeji, the 14 occupants, including three children, were going to attend a function at batala.he disclosed that four persons, sarabjit kaur, harjit singh,avtar singh and the driver lost their lives on the spot while surinder singh breathed his last at rajindra hospital, patiala. the nine injured are under treatment at rajindra hospital. a case has been registered in this connection.
