Film producer, actor booked for hurting Sikh sentiments

Jalandhar: A case for hurting religious sentiments has been registered at Jalandhar for a ‘Yaariyan 2’ film song against actor Meezaan Jafri, producer Bhushan Kumar, and directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. The song allegedly shows Jafri wearing a ‘kirpan’ -- a symbol of Sikh faith -- in a way Amritdhari Sikhs do and this had led to strong reaction in the community, including the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. The SGPC had even sought removal of the song, apart from complaining with Amritsar police.
