The dispute over land has once against turned out into a battlefield in a Punjab village and the dispute lead to the murder of the family head and injuries to deceased’ son.

SANGRUR: The dispute over land has once against turned out into a battlefield in a Punjab village and the dispute lead to the murder of the family head and injuries to deceased’ son. Police has booked duo of father-son, two women for the murder.
Yadwinder Singh of village Dhandoli Kalan falling under Dirba police station said he along with father Hakam Singh, mother Gurmeet Kaur, wife Ramandeep Kaur and a friend Jaswant Singh was sitting in the house on Monday night that village mate Jasvir Singh along with father Gursewak Singh, mother Shaminder Kaur, wife Harmeet Kaur entered their house with arms and ammunition.

Both the women Harmeet Kaur and Shaminder Kaur asked the accompanying men not to leave us alive and Jasvir fired at his father, who collapsed there.
Yadwinder, as per complaint made with the police said when I went ahead to save father, Jasvir with an intention to kill me fired at me but the bullet hit my right arm.
Seeing the villagers started assembling, the assailants fled from the scene. When taken to the hospital, Hakam was declared brought dead and Yadwinder was admitted at the hospital.
Dirba SHO Krishan Kumar said the police have booked Jasvir, father Gursewak, mother Shamninder Kaur, wife Harmeet Kaur and others have been booked u/s 302, 307, 452, 120B, 148, 149 of IPC and 25, 27, 54, 59 of arms act. He said the raids are being conducted to arrest them. SHO said bone of contention was a piece of 5 acres of land.
