Hisar: The CIA team of Fatehabad police has arrested a murder accused from Andhra Pradesh in connection with the killing of a middle-aged man in Dhani Gillakhera village a week ago. The accused, identified as Pramod Das, a resident of Kavatgama in Madhepura district, Bihar, allegedly murdered Rajendra Das, also from his native village, over a family feud.
According to police, the motive behind the crime was that the deceased's son, Pawan Das, had eloped with the accused's wife a few months ago. Both are reportedly living in Ambala. Enraged over the incident, Pramod allegedly planned and executed Rajendra's murder.
Police said Rajendra Das had been working for the past two-and-a-half years on agricultural land in Dhani Gillakhera village, which was taken on contract by Jagir Singh of Patli Dabar village in Sirsa district. On the night of Aug 15, Rajendra had dinner and slept in the fields. The next morning, when Jagir Singh brought him tea, he found Rajendra lying dead. He immediately informed the police through dial 112, after which a forensic team inspected the crime scene. During preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to the murder and cited the family dispute as the reason.
