ROHTAK: Terming farmers as 'ann data' (providers of food), Union minister of state for panchayati raj, agriculture and farmer's welfare Parshottam Rupala on Saturday said the Centre was making concerted efforts to double their income by 2022.
He stated this while presiding over International Conference on Sustainable Agriculture, Energy, Environment and Technology-2018 (ICSAEET-2018) organized under the aegis of environment sustainability management cell of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, on Saturday.

Rupala said there were challenges in the agricultural sector as well as environmental sector. "However, agricultural scientists, biotechnologists, environmental scientists must come forward with innovative solutions to meet these challenges," he said. He appreciated the efforts of MDU to organize such an important conference on sustainable agriculture despite being a non-agricultural university.
